Tell Your Story

Everyone has a story. In fact, we have multiple stories. And most of us enjoy telling our stories, don’t we?

…the story about how you missed being in a huge car wreck by one split second.

…the story about when you met that famous person who impacted your life deeply.

…the story about a major decision that changed the direction of your life.

You’ve probably told similar stories again and again.

What about the story of your life being saved, by a famous person, who then changed the direction of your life? Have you told that one lately?

After Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, the disciples went out and told their story all over town. The religious leaders of the day were very upset by this. They commanded Peter and John not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

What did Peter and John say in reply? “…we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”-Acts 4:20 (NASB)

They were going to keep telling their story – no matter what. Because they did, the good news about Jesus spread all over….and even more people experienced their lives being saved, by a famous person, who then changed the direction they were headed.

What about us? Do we know how to simply share our story with others? It doesn’t have to be fancy. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. What has Jesus done for you? What has He rescued you from? How has He changed your life?

God has given each of us a unique story. And He wants to use it in powerful ways.

What’s your story?

I grew up as a missionary kid with a dream of being a missionary, but God had other plans. After 12 years of chronic illness, God redirected my path and gave me a ministry through writing. Now I enjoy serving others through writing and speaking, coaching, blogging and more. I love to encourage people and share about God's grace, always greater than our need.
